Because we grade and excavate too, we handle the whole slope as one project — cutting and shaping the grade, building the wall, and re-grading above and below it so water is directed away from your home instead of toward the wall. We start with a properly excavated, compacted, level base set below frost depth. We build with the correct batter so the wall leans slightly back into the hill it's holding. Behind the block we place clean drainage stone and perforated pipe to carry groundwater away, and we add geogrid reinforcement — layers of grid tied back into the soil — wherever the height and load demand it. The finished face is the part you see; the base, drainage, and reinforcement are what actually do the work.
